Doug Lief has been a defense litigator in Southern California since 2006. After receiving his undergraduate degree from UCLA and his Juris Doctor from USC, he joined Bowman & Brooke handling warranty and product liability cases. In 2012 he expanded his practice at Woodruff, Spradlin & Smart handling personal injury, civil rights, employment, zoning, and other defense matters for public entities. In 2022 Doug brought that expertise to Kennedy & Souza, representing individuals, business entities, and their insurance carriers in personal injury, habitability, and other tort matters. He has experience in all stages of litigation from inception through trial and appeals.
Doug is licensed in all California courts, state and federal. He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, and the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel. He was also named a Southern California Super Lawyer Rising Star every year from 2008 through 2020.
Outside of his legal career, before becoming a parent to two exceptional kids, he spent fifteen years performing improv comedy. He currently hosts a podcast, Nostalgium Arcanum, which looks back at pop cultural phenomena.
